In 2015, I wrote a blog on the top traits of the best salespeople I've ever seen.

I reflected on those top B2B sellers that I had hired and coached through my years of leading sales organizations and teams at Miller Heiman, Kinko's, Office Depot and Bulldog Solutions.

I didn't look for data points on national talent assessments or google what HR experts had to say on the topic to support my conclusions. No graphs or pie charts were added to my commentary.

Since then, the blog has had 23,087 likes, 11,206 shares and 1,408 comments.

One business blogger even wrote a subsequent piece tying research to support and challenge my claims. 

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with me, I am encouraged that we are having the conversation of what it takes to be a strategic, modern salesperson.

It's important and necessary as we raise the bar of salesmanship as a profession of integrity, sophistication and expertise.
